I have to admit that I have always been a huge fan of comics. I had this dream of being a mutant myself and being like Storm or Rogue; Mystique was also cool in my book. Then I got older and they made the movies. How I loved the movies since they gave me the chance to see my favorite mutants in human(ish) forms. I loved Patrick Steward as Professor X, and Sir Ian McKellen AKA Magneto AKA Gandalf the White was pure perfection, don’t you think so?
I also agree with the whole James McAvoy as the young Charles Xavier; I also adored J-Law and the young Mystique. Now as for Michael Fassbender as the young Magneto, I have yet to decide whether it’s hot or not.
Sizzle or Fizzle?
Now you all might think I’m crazy for not thinking Michael Fassbender is hot and for the record, I do think he is. However, it isn’t his hotness that is being questioned here; it is him as Magneto. I think there is a difference, yes?
Let me assure you that I am not crazy. I do think Michael Fassbender is a doll of man but I don’t know, ladies; I kind of pictured Magneto as someone wilder and more unstable somehow. I have to say that Michael Fassbender looks too much like a male model for me to believe that he came from a poor background in Poland. I mean, you really can’t go through what he did and have that much “crazy” in your head and still look utterly dashing and debonair, right? I know I would look like a complete mad woman if I had to go through what he did.
I just think that maybe they could have gone for someone a lot less, sleek? Does that make sense to you? I wanted my Magneto to be a little rough around the edges because that way, he could have been a perfect foil for Professor X’s rich-kid, academic aura.
Whom Do I Suggest?
One actor I have in mind to play Magneto would have been Ewan McGregor or perhaps Joseph-Gordon Levitt. They are both dreamy, no doubt about that, but there is also a bit of grittiness and roughness to them that would make them perfect for the part. If you have seen Big Fish and 50/50 starring McGregor and Gordon-Levitt, you know they have the acting chops for a role as epic as Magneto.
