One more night of the Oscars has come and gone, leaving behind so many memories to carry us until the next year, and there’s always so much to be included, in the way of the stunning collection of gowns, jewelry, shoes, hair and makeup moments gracing the red carpet. Looking them up, learning details about how they were created and why will keep us busy for a long time following them. Many will become trends, and so many of them will become classic styles sustained by generations to come. We saw some of the most breathtaking styles, ever, this year, along with the red carpet characteristic outrageous fashion statements, both good and not-good-at-all, but one thing remains true: they are all unforgettable.

And This Year’s Winner is—
From the unofficial tally, based upon the most frequently Googled gowns following the gala, as it turns out, was the stunning design draping Olivia Wilde. With the Vinyl star’s Oscar dress, she made sure all eyes were turned on her as she stepped out and onto the red carpet. This dazzling Valentino creation featured a new depth in plunging necklines—this one came close to giving bystanders and paparazzi a significant bellybutton reveal, and was completely backless. With brilliantly sexy sophistication, there was some seriously edgy pleating and the design managed to artfully capture the best of old Hollywood ambiance, with a nicely added dimension of Grecian influence.

Bumps on the Red Carpet
Sports Illustrated cover girl and supermodel Chrissy Teigen walked the carpet on the arm of husband John Legend, with that perfect body of hers, smoothly poured into a glamorously stunning Marchesa maternity gown and now showcasing a perfect little baby bump. This stunning skin-colored gown was embellished in a vibrant red, featuring a mesh neckline that fooled the eyes into seeing a deeper “V” plunge. Accessorized by John Legend, French teased braid and wine clutch, daddy-to-be Legend made sure to pose for the paparazzi while giving their little bump some Daddy-love. Photos were taken of seamstresses applying finishing touches to the gown after she had already dressed in it.

More Looks
With her “Ask Dad” pillow as the chief accessory, Mindy Kaling glided along, in her Elizabeth Kennedy dress with sweeping train. Her gorgeous look was completed with a lovely updo, which revealed stunning drop earrings and a sapphire ring from Effy Jewelry, with a red Prada clutch, and glam Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. And Pharrell Williams was “happy” to be sporting Chanel pearls, of which he shares, “I feel like the legacy that Chanel, well, Coco created, is just like none other. It kind of intensifies everything that you see on the runway and you see in the past collections.” Alicia Vikander’s strapless, dusty yellow Louis Vuitton gown was covered in stunning embellishments, and Lady Gaga’s designer friend Brandon Maxwell created for her an off-shoulder, massive jumpsuit with rippled detailing and a back, featuring a skirt and train, capped off with rather plain, dangling earrings and a retro Marilyn part and wave.
