It’s never too early (or too late) to start thinking about spring break, and how to make this year a game changing experience for everyone. Not that there’s anything wrong with returning to the classic standard destinations, a lot of the time the reason they became a go-to destination was simply because nobody took the time to do some out of the box exploration into breaking from the same ol’ spring break and venturing out and into uncharted, fresh ambience for different break-able surroundings.
Panama City Beach, Florida
With its miles upon miles of deliciously-compelling white sand beaches, there are around half of a million spring breakers who have voted Panama City Beach as the proverbial Spring Break Capital of the World–a pretty high standard to live up to, but Panama City Beach continues to draw these and more spring break-bound visitors every year. Not just all-beach, with plenty of historic places of interest, rich state parks and a fisherman’s mecca. During Spring Break, the action never stops, with plenty of outdoor concerts and contests, and surprisingly low prices. All the great restaurants and bars expand their happy hours to cover the span, and they even have an amusement park playground.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach is the East Coast’s everything and more you could ever want from a beach trip destination, and during spring break, it’s an unending party, wherever you go. The abundance of inexpensive oceanfront places to stay–with their huge sized accommodations–makes all that these Myrtle resorts offer their guests an even better value. Tons of water parks, game rooms, bungee jumping and more than 100 golf courses for daytime spring breakers, and at night, the 60-mile coastal area comes alive with parties and entertainment everywhere on the beach, as well as the famous Senor Frogs night time beach parties and foam parties. With bars and nightclubs everywhere, spring breakers get one endless raging party.
South Padre Island, Texas
South Padre’s destination appeal begins with its island status, and this Texas Spring Spot has Spring Break covered! With a massive lineup for a wild ride, the island beaches offer volleyball, banana boats, parasailing and excellent snorkeling. A must-do is Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark. Every spring, it literally becomes “Coca-Cola Beach, when everything ramps up to full throttle for the party life like nobody’s business. For any needed quiet time, visitors have South Padre Island Birding & Nature Center or Port Isabel Lighthouse & Museum.
Breckenridge, Colorado
Not all spring breakers are beach bunnies, and ever since Colorado legalized marijuana, Breckenridge has become a wildly popular spring destination for spring breakers to get supercharged high off their face times. Keeping a moderate buzz will come in handy if you hope to take advantage of any of the area’s fun things to do. The mountains of the area make for ideal skiing and snowboarding, and everybody knows how much fun the partying is, after coming in off the slopes. Make it to Breckenridge brewery, and they may have to peel you off the walls. The town is home to a haunted hotel. The Brown Hotel has stories–in addition to a full armory of arcade games.
